ETA Verification

ETA Visa Verification

If your application is approved, you will receive an email to confirm your acceptance. Some individuals may want to verify their visa, but please note that this is not necessary. We have approved your visa because the Australian government has allowed you access to their country. If you wish to verify your Australian ETA visa, you can contact an Australian embassy, Australian Visa office, or your airline. Before you depart on any flight, the airline will ensure your visa is accepted and that you are allowed to fly. The response that we are given (looks like this) is a direct response from Australian immigration regarding your visa status and is the proof that your visa is valid.

However, the following agencies can also verify your visa:

  • Any Australian Embassy
  • Any Australian Visa Office.
  • Your Airline
  • Or, by e-mailing eta.contact@sita.aero

Please note that your airline will automatically check the status of your visa at the airport before you depart. Since they are capable of both issuing and amending visas, this assures you and other travelers that you cannot be stranded at the airport.

ETA Support Reference number

We do not provide reference number to be used on the government site, they are only given to applicants who use the government site itself. The reference number is used by the government for their customers to check the status of their visa. However, we eliminate this extra step to save our customers time, by sending out an approval confirmation e-mail as soon as the visa is approved in the ETA system.

The government help section lists this information in the pictures below. Or, you can read further information on the Department of Immigration site here.

VEVO

The Department of Immigration's VEVO system is used by schools, organizations, and companies to check the status of potential employees, students, or researchers on the status of their visas. This is widely used to determine the eligibility of these people to begin research, studies, or work.

The VEVO system is not used to check the status of short-term tourist visas. The Reference, Grant, or other numbers that the system asks for are not provided for a subclass 601 ETA tourist visa.
